Descended from the gene seed of the Primarch Sanguinius, the Blood Angels chapter of the Space Marines are among the most celebrated and loved of the chapters. However, those who join choose a cursed life - destined to one day be driven mad by the Red Thirst and an unending waking nightmare.
Considered the "Great Angel", Sanguinius was held to the highest honor amongst his Brother primarchs for his nobility and spirit. However, a fatal genetic flaw soon arose that invoked a terrible thirst for blood in himself and his legion: the dreaded Red Thirst. Exploiting this to destroy his closest Brother, Warmaster Horus would eventually slay this brilliant Primarch in battle above Terra during the final days of his dark crusade.
